قالت الشبكة العربية لمعلومات حقوق الإنسان اليوم ، أنه ينبغي على الحكومة السعودية أن تشعر بالفخر ، بعد أن انتزعت بجدارة من تونس لقب عدو الإنترنت العربي الأول ، حيث قامت بحجب موقع “الجمعية المصرية للتغيير –http://eacusa.org/ ” بعد انطلاقه بخمس عشرة ساعة فقط قبل يومين ، محطمة بذلك الرقم القياسي الذي حققته تونس من قبل ، حينما حجبت موقع ” يزي اورج – مظاهرة افتراضية - www.yezzi.org ” بعد إطلاقه بثمانِ عشرة ساعة فقط في عام 2005 ، ثم قام بعض القراصنة باختراقه بعد ذلك.و قد فوجئ مستخدمو الانترنت بالسعودية أثناء محاولتهم الدخول علي موقع الجمعية الوطنية للتغيير والذي أطلقه بعض النشطاء المصريين في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية ، برسالة الحجب التي تبلغهم بعدم إمكانية زيارة الموقع والتي احتوت علي عبارة ” عفواً , الموقع المطلوب غير متاح ” .
وأعربت الشبكة العربية عن أسفها الشديد من تزايد وتيرة حجب مواقع الانترنت لدي الحكومات العربية وما يشكله من مصادرة غير مقبولة لآراء معارضي ومنتقدي تلك الحكومات و من انتهاك صارخ لحقوقهم المشروعة في حرية الرأي والتعبير وتداول المعلومات لاسيما عندما يتم الحجب من حكومة بغرض مجاملة حكومة دولة أخري.
وتري الشبكة العربية لمعلومات حقوق الإنسان أن قيام حكومة السعودية بحجب موقع لا يحتوي علي أي مادة لها علاقة بالسعودية ولا يتضمن أي دعاية للعنف أو مواد إباحية ، هو دليل واضح على عداء هذه الحكومة الأوتوقراطية لحرية التعبير ، ويعد مؤشراً خطيراً لمدى استهتارها بحرية استخدام الإنترنت التي باتت من الحريات الأساسية ، لتنضم إلى قائمة طويلة من الحقوق التي تهدرها هذه الحكومة وتحرّمها على مواطنيها وللمقيمين فيها دون رادع أو رقيب.
Saudi Arabia Beats Tunisia In Swift Site Blocking Blocking A Site In Support of Elbaradei 15 Hours After Launch

The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information said ,today, that the Saudi government should be proud, to have seized the title ” Prime Arabic Internet Enemy” from Tunisia. Two days ago, Saudi blocked The Egyptian Association for Change site – http://eacusa.org , 15 hours only after it has been launched ,breaking the record set earlier in 2005 by Tunisia ,when Tunisian authorities blocked the site, Virtual demonstration – www.yezzi.org, 18 hours after launch. Later, the site was hacked and vandalized.
While trying to access The Egyptian Association for Change site, launched by some Egyptian activists in the United States of America, internet users in Saudi Arabia were surprised to find blocking message reading “Sorry, the requested site is not available”.
The Arabic Network deeply regretted the increasing frequency of site blocking in Arab countries being an unacceptable seizure of views of opponents and critics of those governments and a flagrant violation of their legitimate rights to freedom of opinion and expression and circulation of information especially when the blocking by a government is to compliment the government of another state.
The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information considers that blocking a site that does not contain any material related to Saudi Arabia or calling for violence or pornography is an evidence clear enough of the hostility of the Saudi autocratic government to freedom of expression. It is a serious indicator of the severity of disregarding the freedom to use the internet, which has become one of the fundamental freedoms. Freedom to use the internet would join the long list of lost rights and freedoms which Saudi citizens and residents are denied . Those rights and freedoms are wasted by the Saudi government with no deterrent or sergeant.
